Repeat Vaginal Natural Orifice Transluminal Endoscopic Surgery: A First Feasibility Study

چکیده
Objectives: Vaginal natural orifice transluminal endoscopic surgery (vNOTES) is an emerging minimally invasive technique in benign gynaecologic whereby surgical access to the peritoneal cavity achieved through orifices, namely a vaginal colpotomy. Experience repeat vNOTES cases limited and so far, have not been described literature. The purpose of this study was demonstrate feasibility hysterectomy women with history previous adnexal surgery. Design: We performed retrospective cohort first 11 our centre. All procedures, primary as well hysterectomy, were by one surgeon (J.B.). Materials, Setting, Methods: Between March 2016 May 2020, patients underwent after prior adnexectomy or cystectomy Imelda Hospital, Bonheiden, Belgium. Relevant patient characteristics outcome data collected written informed consent. Results: Median age 49 years (range 44–65) at moment procedure. Two had more caesarean sections history, 2 nulliparous. interval between procedure 15 months 0.8–37 months). vaginally assisted NOTES (VANH) Performing colpotomy entering technically feasible all cases. VANHs successfully performed. There 3 minor complications vNOTES, which anaesthesia-related. associated both cystitis. In these patients, there high post-void residues, easily managed bladder training. no conversions laparoscopy laparotomy, neither serious nor life-threatening complications. No ureteric, bladder, intestinal injuries occurred. Limitations: design small sample size are main limitations study. Moreover, follow-up period most recently operated too short draw conclusions on long-term outcomes, including sexual function. Conclusions: case series, Large-scale prospective trials needed evaluate safety multiple consecutive procedures 1 patient.

Twenty years have passed since the first laparoscopic cholecystectomy was conducted by P. Moruet in 1987. Since then, the success of laparoscopy has been undeniable. Almost all surgical procedures can be carried out using laparoscopic techniques. The majority of those procedures that can be performed laparoscopically do so regularly. Laparoscopic gallbladder and bile ducts surgery, exploratory ...

Natural orifice transluminal endoscopic surgery (NOTES) is one of the most exciting concepts that has emerged recently in the surgical field. All accesses to the abdominal cavity in the porcine model using natural orifices, e.g. transgastric, transvesical, transcolonic and transvaginal, have been described and explored. The experimental feasibility of all procedures by NOTES was successfully de...

Natural orifice translumenal endoscopic surgery (NOTES) is the latest surgery paradigm in which the abdominal cavity is accessed via the body’s natural orifice, e.g., vagina, mouth, etc. Compared with traditional laparoscopic surgery, NOTES completely eliminates the skin incision and therefore benefits the patients in several aspects such as less post-operative pain, shorter recovery period, fe...

A current review and update of an exceedingly novel and appealing topic, namely natural orifice transluminal endoscopic surgery (NOTES), is discussed, as well as the authors’ viewpoint thereon. Most reviewed studies were performed in laboratory animals, but reports on transvaginal cholecystectomy and the emergence of editorials and review articles on this topic pose a number of as yet unanswere...

Natural orifice transluminal endoscopic surgery (NOTES) is an emerging experimental alternative to conventional surgery that eliminates abdominal incisions and incision-related complications by combining endoscopic and laparoscopic techniques to diagnose and treat abdominal pathology. Natural orifice transluminal endoscopic surgery refers to the method of accessing the abdominal cavity through ...
